Vision

Women in India are the core strength of the family, society and institutions. Recently with women empowerment campaigns at the global level they have become almost indispensable in all walks of life. The number of women teachers, employees and girl students has increased by leaps and bounds in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University. It is realized that a collective effort has to be made for the enhancement of women contribution in restructuring society.

Aims & Objectives

• To increase women’s participation in the corporate life of the University.
• To provide a forum for the solution of problems of women teachers, employees and students.
• To provide opportunities for socio-cultural and academic activities.
• To provide adequate facilities for women.
• Raise awareness about women’s rights.
• To focus on Women’s Studies.
• To eradicate discrimination against women.
• To provide security to women against exploitation and harassment.
• To organize awareness programmes, lectures, seminar on women’s studies, workshops and competitions, discourses on current social issues, interstate cultural charity programmes, theatre, etc.
• To seek cooperation with other pressure groups to solve common issues.
• To arrange lectures by women activists.
• To arrange personality development programmes and provide career guidance to women.
• To organize Two day Session on International Women’s Day.
• To raise funds for giving incentives to meritorious women students.
• To publish the Annual Bulletin.
