About MootCourt

Moot Court is an essential part of the curriculum of both LL.B. Three Year Course & B.A.LL.B. Five Year Integrated Course. It is a co-curricular activity at many law schools. A moot court is a role-play of an appellate court or Supreme Court hearing. Participants take part in simulated court or arbitration proceedings, usually involving drafting memorials or memoranda and participating in oral argument. In most countries, the phrase "moot court" may be shortened to simply "moot" or "mooting". Participants are, generally, referred to as "mooters". Moot court exercises help the future advocates to learn the art of advocacy while they are still students. The Department of Law has a separate Moot Court Hall, constructed about ten years ago, with necessary facilities. There are four Advocate-Teachers, in the Department, for guiding students in practical courses including Moot Court.
