About the Department:

The Department of Agronomy within the Institute of Agricultural and Natural Sciences, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur. It achieves excellence in teaching entomology to undergraduate students and conducting problem-oriented research. The Department of agronomy came into existence with the start of the B. Sc. (Ag.) degree in the year 2020, with the objective of achieving excellence in teaching entomology to undergrads and conducting problem-oriented research with farmers. The department started M.Sc.(Ag.) Agronomy in 2020, which essentially provides basic and applied science curricula and specialized skills for profitable employment.

Vision:

The main goal of fundamental scientific research in Agronomy is to understand the about nutrient management, crop diversification, weed management, precession farming, and organic farming. We encourage research, integrative, and application-based agronomical research ranging from environmental landscapes to biological molecules. The department offers fascinating but scientifically, agriculturally, and ecologically relevant research and training as part of undergraduate and graduate education from a faculty of nationally and internationally known academics who consider our work from a global viewpoint.
