Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University's Centre for Information, Publication and Public Relations was established in place of the existing Media and Public Relations Office in February 2024 under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon. This centre is committed to advancing information and communications related to the University's mission of excellence in teaching, learning, and research.

Role and Responsibilities

The Centre is responsible for working as the University's official mouthpiece.

The Centre will publish University's newsletter, three in a year, to effectively communicate with institutions associated with higher education and other stakeholders.

Liaisoning between the University and journalists for authentic and credible representation of the University.

Issuing press releases from the office regarding events, admission and student related important announcements, achievements of the student/faculty, etc.

Curation of news items published in leading dailies everyday and maintenance of record (online and offline).

Assistance in Publication of any and all official information of the University (e.g. annual report, directory, invitations for Convocation Program, progress report, etc).

To cultivate media persons both at local and national level through regular meetings with beat reporters and editors of newspapers/TV Channels.

To manage regular interaction of editors of local/State Capital/National newspapers/TV channels/Websites with Hon'ble Vice Chancellor.

To manage Twitter, Facebook and other social media accounts of University to strengthen outreach on social media platforms.
