In today’s highly competitive academic landscape, ranking plays a crucial role in shaping the reputation and credibility of educational institutions. The Ranking Cell can play a crucial role in achieving academic excellence and International recognition. To attain the above purpose, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University constituted the Ranking Cell in the year 2024 under the able guidance of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon.

OBJECTIVES

• Collect, analyze, and present data related to various performance indicators, enabling the University to generate comprehensive reports for accreditation bodies, stake holders, and internal assessment purposes.
• Monitor and assess the quality of academic programs, faculty, research activities, and support services within the University.
• Enable the University to systematically assess its strengths and weaknesses, facilitating strategic planning and targeted improvements.
• Adherence to globally recognized standards, promoting transparency and fairness.
• Facilitates a culture of continuous improvement. It helps set goals, implement action plans, and track progress over time.
• Actively engage with ranking agencies and stay updated on the latest evaluation methodologies.
• Compare the university’s performance with peer institutions and industry standards, providing valuable insights for improvement and strategic decision-making.
• Help the University gain external recognition and increase its visibility through positive rankings, awards, and accolades. This enhances the university’s reputation and attractiveness to prospective students and partners.
• Attract high-calibre faculty and students, enhancing the overall academic environment.
• To help the University to know its strengths and weakness.
• To support the university’s internal efforts to address its shortcomings and obstacles in order to go forward and provide better services to a higher category of students in the future.
• To give students the chance to quickly assess the effectiveness and calibre of the University’s performance in relation to their selected criterion by using the Comprehensive ranking list.
• To entice a sizable number of international applicants to our University for admission.
• To place our University along with other top ranked University so that new chances in the areas of research collaboration, academic and students’ exchange programmes, information sharing prospects etc. will develop for a University when it is recognised globally as a top rated university.
