Health Center of DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur was established in the year 1957 with aim to provide general healthcare facility to staff members and students. The foundation stone of the present building of health center was laid in 1966 and the building expanded with sincere efforts of Dr. G. S. Shukla. Health center of university is equipped with facilities like thermometer, BP apparatus, weight and height measuring machines, strecher, patient beds etc. Two allopathic and one homeopathic part time doctors along with three permanent and six contractual employees help in smooth running of health center. The center provides free medical consultation to employees and students of university from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm. Essential medicines are dispensed free of cost to the students of university. Apart from medical consultation health center provides medical aid during sports and academic events (examination conference etc.). It also provides facilities for medical examination of NCC cadets. Health center of university also oraginizes awareness camps with other departments. During and post COVID it organized camp to vaccinate the employees and students of university.
